On September 2, 2022, my life changed forever. My only son, Captain Anthony J. Workman, lost his life in a motorcycle accident on his way to work. Anthony had already lived a life of extraordinary service—he was a Captain in the Baltimore City Fire Department, a proud veteran of both the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army, and most importantly, a devoted father to seven beautiful children.
Anthony was more than his titles. He was a man of heart and action. Whether it was cheering on his sons at their football games, serving his community through the firehouse, or inspiring others with his discipline and courage, Anthony embodied sacrifice, service, and love. His passion for children and commitment to his family left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
In the midst of my grief, I knew I had to honor his legacy in a way that would continue the work he started—lifting others up, protecting the vulnerable, and shaping future generations. That vision gave birth to The Workman Foundation Inc.
The Workman Foundation is more than a tribute; it is a mission. In too many of our communities, young people grow up without adequate support, guidance, or positive male role models. This lack leaves them vulnerable and underserved. The Workman Foundation seeks to fill that gap by offering mentoring, tutoring, after-school programs, and youth development services designed to enrich the mind, body, and spirit of every child we serve.
Anthony’s legacy of service continues through this foundation. By supporting The Workman Foundation, you are not only keeping his memory alive—you are investing in the future of countless children who deserve opportunity, guidance, and hope. Together, we can build something that lasts for generations and changes lives for the better.
